GEORGE ADMIRE, SR. Born: 1730/35 in Germany Died: 1804 in Henry County, Kentucky Married to Margaret Coon (Kuhn) Probably at the Heidleberg Lutheran Church in Rowan Co, North Carolina He may have been the George Admire who arrived in Philadephia on the EDINBURGH on Sept. 5, 1748. From "Naturalizations in Rowan County" (North Carolina) p. 132. On September 24, 1766, George Admire came into Open Court and was Naturalized according to law.

July, 1765 Ordered that George Admire have a lycs (license) to Keep Ordinary at his own dwelling house in the county (granted a license to be a tavern keeper)
1768 -- George Admire on Morgan Bryan's list of Taxables; on the fork of the Yadkin River (now southern Davies Co.)
Oct. 1768 -- 30 people of Rowan and Orange counties presented a petition to the House of Representatives. They listed some of the most oppressive actions they were subjected to and asked for legislative action. George Admire was among the signers. They became known as "Regulators" and the governor took action against them.
Nov. 1777 George took Oath of Fidelity to North Carolina

Sept. 16, 1788 Petition #52 signed by George Admire of Fayette Co. along with others to divide the county. The petition was successful and Woodford Co. was formed.

From the Journal of North Carolina p. 175: George Admire, Jr. omitted to appear in court and take the Oath of allegiance. Recorded 1778. Records say that one out of five living in N. Carolina refused or just plain neglected to appear. Died: 1818 in Henry County, Kentucky Married Ruth Jones in 1781 in Rowan County, North Carolina.
