Jacob and Mary Jane along with the Jeremiah Callahan family migrated west . The two families purchased land in Whitebreast Township at $1.25 an acre and here they settled to till the land and make their homes for the rest of their lives. (From Lucas County Iowa History) The first school was taught by Jeremiah Callahan in a log cabin north of what was later known as Whitebreast Junction. Jacob Admire was a brickmaker by trade and had a kiln. Many of the buildings in the area were made from bricks made by Jacob.
